“I don’t like it, either, but it is the reality that faces us.” “I believe that right now, I’m making a decision that probably many of you in the audience don’t like,” SMWD board president Betty Olson said. It was the first major rate adjustment for Santa Margarita since 2009. The district’s board of directors on Wednesday night approved rate and fee increases that are intended to keep up with inflation and other cost increases.

LAS FLORES – Residents in the Santa Margarita Water District will see their water bills go up over the next five years.
